File Setup Checklist

Always use CMYK Color Profile

RGB colors look vibrant on digital monitors but are chemically converted to CMYK inks. Converting your designs to CMYK profile prior to saving avoids unexpected dark or desaturated print colors.

Apply Bleed Spacing Margins

Mechanical paper cutting blades have slight shifting tolerances (+/- 1.5mm). Extending your background design colors past the final bleed margins blocks white edges from showing up on the final trimmed prints.

Convert All Fonts to Outlines

Vector files (like AI, EPS) can replace missing fonts with fallbacks on different print computers. Converting text layouts to vector shape outlines blocks formatting issues.

Minimum 300 DPI Resolution

For high sharpness prints, images should be rasterized at 300 pixels per inch at full physical print size. Low-res screenshots look blurry and pixelated in ink.
